Fish In Coconut Milk

  • white fish (any kind) 300 – 500 gm
  • Coconut Milk 3 Cups
  • Onion ½ cup Chopped
  • Tomato ½ chopped
  • Green chillies2 chopped (optional)
  • Roasted dill seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Ginger and Garlic paste1 tsp
  • Cinnamon stick3 cm
  • Lime /lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Combine all the ingredients except fish and lime. Add these to the coconut milk and cook for 5 – 7 minutes stirring continuously so that it does not curdle. When the onions are soft reduce heat. Simmer the heat and add the fish and let it cook for further 5 minutes. Do not stir at this point as you may break the fish into pieces. When the fish is cooked switch off the cooker and add the lime juice.

It is best eaten with cooked white rice or bread.
